"Alienation from the beautiful among moralists and educators has made of biblical morality, with its gratitude, joy and wholeness, a fretful groaning under incomprehensive imperatives, laws and controls, a chilling encounter with duties, or a petty computation of merits for the other world. A morality that has no concern for the beautiful knows nothing of the blessedness that dwells within the good, which is the voice of the all-holy God"
